School From Home

The current social limitations brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, though undeniably challenging to our communities, has only highlighted how adaptable the Eagles are. With our existing eLearning programs and self-driven learning model, the Eagles have quickly adapted to our School From Home Program. Mimicking our In-studio environment, the Elementary and Middle school studios meet three times a day via video conferencing. Our meetings consist of Socratic discussions and Launches that springboard our day by posing either a daily challenge, a call to action, or collaborative activities that encourage personal growth. The Eagles also meet daily with a guide to discuss their progress, goals, and challenges. The individual meeting time allows our guides to continue to support each Eagle's learning through their School From Home journey. With the various challenges and daily expectations to keep their learning at a consistently high quality, Eagles who complete our School From Home Program earn a badge, to proudly display their effort.

Our virtual platforms and activities have given our community the ability to stay connected with each other through this difficult time. Whether it be for just one Session, many Sessions or a school year, our families are confident that their students will not experience a gap in their education.

How will the program work?

Our program closely mimics the Acton environment and schedule. Along with receiving a School From Home badge, the Eagles have Group Launches, 1:1 Guide Meetings, Core time, P.E., Quest/Writer's Workshop, Studio Maintenance and finally Reflections. Attendance is mandatory, but we are understanding of fluctuating schedules. If students cannot attend any particular activity throughout the day, it is the Eagle's responsibility to communicate with the guides and makeup work on their own. The schedule is as follows:

  1. School starts at 8:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm.
  2. Eagles are required to log into our video conferencing platform (via zoom or google meet) by 8:30 am.
  3. There are three group conference calls and one on one eagle and guide calls every day
  4. Daily schedules are posted for the Eagles to review activities and content before starting the day
